The short version
This site is a brochure. It has no contact form storage, no newsletter, no comments, and no third-party tracking. The only data we receive when you visit is what your browser automatically sends to our hosting provider — and the only optional data we ever store about you is whether you accepted analytics cookies (we currently use none).
If you write to us via the contact form or directly at hello@suedtirol.wedding, we keep the conversation as long as we need it to do the work or comply with our records-keeping duties.
1. Data controller
The controller of your personal data within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR is:

- Address
- Blossenberg 12 · 39030 Ahrntal (BZ) · Italy

2. What we process
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer, user-agent) for security and operational reasons. These logs are typically retained for up to 14 days and are then deleted or anonymised.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
Cookies and local storage
We use a single piece of local storage (sw_consent_v1) to remember whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so we don't ask again on every visit. We currently set no analytics or marketing cookies. Details on the cookies page.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) for any optional cookies; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) for storing your choice.
Contact form & email
If you contact us via the form or by email, we receive your name, email address, the wedding date you provide, and whatever you choose to write. The form is processed by Formspree (Formspree Inc., USA), which forwards the message to us — no data is stored on this site. We use the information to reply, plan, quote, and — once a wedding is booked — coordinate the work.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to a contract / performance of a contract); Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general enquiries that don't lead to a booking. The consent checkbox on the form is your express agreement under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR to be contacted in reply.
Bookings and contracts
To make a booking we additionally process your full name, address, phone number, wedding date and venue, and payment details. Italian tax law requires us to retain invoices and related records for ten years (D.P.R. 633/1972, art. 39).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract) and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation).
Photographs and film of you
When we photograph or film a wedding, we process images of you and the people you invited. We use these to deliver your gallery and film, and — only with your separate written consent — to show selected work on this website, on social media, and in our portfolio.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the work itself; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) for any public use.
Embedded videos (YouTube)
Our wedding-film gallery uses the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com embed, which loads only when you click play. Until you click, no requests are made to YouTube and no cookies are set. Once you start a film, YouTube (operated by Google Ireland Ltd) may set cookies and process limited usage data under its own privacy policy.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent, signified by clicking play).
3. Recipients
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers we need to do the work, each acting as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR:
- Our hosting provider (server logs)
- Formspree Inc., USA (contact form processing)
- Our email provider (correspondence)
- Our accountant and tax authorities (where required by Italian law)
- Cloud storage we use to deliver galleries and films (only for clients)
- YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd) — only when you choose to play an embedded film
If you book us, we will name these specific providers in your contract.
4. International transfers
Some of our providers operate servers outside the EU/EEA. Where this is the case, transfers are based on the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs, Art. 46 GDPR) or — for transfers to the United States — on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision.
5. Retention
- Server logs — up to 14 days
- Cookie consent record — up to 12 months, or until you withdraw it
- Email enquiries that don't lead to a booking — up to 12 months
- Booking and invoice data — 10 years (Italian tax law)
- Wedding photographs and films — kept by us for archival purposes; you can request removal of any public use at any time
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you (Art. 15)
- Have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17)
- Restrict (Art. 18) or object to (Art. 21) our processing
- Receive your data in a portable form (Art. 20)
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing (Art. 7(3))
To exercise any of these, write to hello@suedtirol.wedding. We will reply within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority — Garante per la protezione dei dati personali — at garanteprivacy.it.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our processing changes. Material changes are dated at the top.
